Ajoutez deux lettres a Paris et c’est le paradis. Jules Renard, writer Add two letters to Paris and it is paradise. When Jules Renard uttered this famous quote, he could not have been more correct. There are very few places in the world that are able to justify the hype surrounding them. Paris not only justifies …

𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒅𝒆 𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑰𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒓𝒐 𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒄𝒂 𝒅𝒆 mi barrio con su lago congelado ❄️☃️. Se queda aún más bonito 😍

𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑰𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒓𝒐 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒌 𝒏𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝒕𝒐 my neighbourhood is even more beautiful with snow ❄️⛄...look how pretty the lake looks being frozen! 😍

𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒂 𝒉𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒄 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒕𝒐 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒏! The last time it snowed in the city was in 2009, and the last time there was heavy snowfall was in 1970! Gracias Madrid 😘

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫?

𝐒𝐮𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐦𝐲 𝐧𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 🤩😁. It was the first day after the snowstorm Filomena had passed over us, leaving behind beautifully powdered fresh snow 🌨️ & clear conditions ☀️. One could even see some people trying to snowboard 🏂🏽.

𝐈𝐬 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞? 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐬𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐲 😂?

𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒎𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒂 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 2nd day of snowstorm 'Filomena'. The photos don't look that dramatically full of snow, but I guess 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒂𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒕'𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏 (as well as the royal) cathedral, the ice melting machines were probably at work, as the other parts of Madrid were a completely different story!
𝑻𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒕𝒔 𝒏𝒂𝒎𝒆 𝒇𝒓𝒐𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒄 'Al-mudayna', which means a fortress. On its site originally was an old mosque built before the Catholic rulers.

𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒏 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂, I'd only ever experienced snow on some very rare ski trips and even those were a solid 14 years ago. So obviously, stepping out for the 'first' time on Day 1 resulted in a lot of excitement, and a lot of hypothermia.

𝑮𝒍𝒂𝒅𝒍𝒚, 𝑰 𝒅𝒊𝒅𝒏'𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒚 𝒕𝒐𝒆𝒔, 𝒃𝒖𝒕 I did learn a few lessons on how to protect myself better against the cold.
Here are a few pointers for 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒎𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔, and 𝒅𝒐𝒏'𝒕 𝒏𝒆𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒂𝒓𝒊𝒍𝒚 𝒐𝒘𝒏 𝒂 '𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒈𝒆𝒂𝒓':

❄𝑻𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒂 𝒉𝒐𝒕 𝒔𝒉𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 stepping out and drown yourself in some heavy duty moisturiser. This will seal in the hot shower's heat in your body.
⛄𝑨𝒏𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒂 𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒐 eat a hot meal before going out because, yep, same reason as above!
❄3 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒃𝒐𝒕𝒕𝒐𝒎𝒔: thermals/ leggings + trackies + slouchy jeans
⛄2 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒔: thermals/long sleeved + jumper
❄ 3 𝒑𝒂𝒊𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒔: including 1 thick pair
⛄𝑨𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 '𝒂𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒔' that you can think of: gloves + beanie + scarf + boots
❄𝑨 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒎 & waterproof coat

⛄𝑷𝒓𝒐 𝒕𝒊𝒑: if it's very snowy outside (like today) and your boots aren't waterproof, wrap your socks with a plastic bag to prevent your feet from getting wet!

𝐀𝐧𝐲 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐝?

¡𝐅𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐝𝐞 𝐃í𝐚 𝟏 𝐝𝐞 𝐥𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐝𝐚 𝐞𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐝!
¡𝑸𝒖é 𝒊𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊ó𝒏! 𝑬𝒔 𝒍𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒂 𝒗𝒆𝒛 𝒅𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒆 2009 que ha nevado en la zona metropolitana! 😁
𝑨𝒒𝒖í 𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒚 𝒚𝒐 (2ª 𝒇𝒐𝒕𝒐) en la plaza en frente de mi piso 😁

𝑷𝒐𝒓 𝒎𝒊 𝒆𝒙𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒊𝒂 𝒅𝒆 𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒓 𝒆𝒏 𝒍𝒂 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂 𝒚 𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒈𝒐 𝒆𝒏 𝑨𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒂, nunca había vivido en la nevada (salvo algunas vacaciones de esquí), entonces el primer día nevado en Madrid no solo me dió mucha emoción pero también demasiado frío 😂😂❄️🥶

𝑺𝒊 𝒔𝒐𝒊𝒔 𝒅𝒆 𝒖𝒏 𝒍𝒖𝒈𝒂𝒓 𝒅𝒐𝒏𝒅𝒆 𝒆𝒍 𝒇𝒓í𝒐 𝒏𝒐 𝒆𝒔 𝒕𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒆 y no tenéis ropas para la nevada, os digo lo que me he llevado hoy que me ha dado mucha más protección 😁👍🏾:

❄ 𝑪𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒕𝒂𝒔: térmica ➡️ jersey
⛄ 𝑷𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔: térmicos o de leggins ➡️ chándal ➡️ vaqueros sueltos/slouchy.
❄𝑪𝒂𝒍𝒄𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒔: llevo 3 calcetines, y un par es súper gordo.
⛄𝑨𝒄𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒐𝒔: guantes, gorro, bufanda, paragua, botas
❄𝑼𝒏 𝒂𝒃𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒐 súper calentito y impermeable.

𝑷𝒓𝒐 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒆𝒋𝒐𝒔:
